We need to start emailing and calling our SD state Legislators on the Constitutional Convention topic. The ConCon (or CoS) proponents are already at work in Pierre, trying to get our new folks to dance to their music. Rick Santorum (ex-Senator from Pennsylvania; question…why is he lobbying our SD Legislators…?) and other big name ConCon folks, from out of state and a few from within, are already lobbying our SD state Legislators – and have been for several years. Threats from the CoS folks have been leveled at our Legislators who have taken a stand against the ConCon, that CoS will run candidates against those who do support the convention…..
So, bottom line, we need to let our Legislators know that we, as their constituents, support them in taking a strong stand against this well-funded, national movement. ($7million budget reported last year)
The CoS movement is not a “conservative” movement. Check out this “friend” of the CoS project, the Wolf-PAC:
https://wolf-pac.com (Dedicated to a ConCon and a new 28th Amendment to “ensure the integrity of our elections and establish a government accountable to the people”… but they don’t explain exactly how this would be done). Wolf-PAC’s founder also started The Young Turks progressive media site…. You can piece the agenda together from the TYT website, based upon the statements they clearly make: https://tyt.com
We can count on this group being part of the ConCon. I’m sure there are others like this group, who want their piece of the pie. Does that concern you? It does me.
To write emails to SD Legislators:

If you want material to draft emails, please use the information available on the JBS website (link below) to formulate your own message. You don’t have to be a member to access this. These emails should not be lengthy but need to be accurate and sincere. Using the apologetic approach with genuine questions about their thoughts on a few key facts is a great way to start. Begin by asking if they’re familiar with the ConCon and what their thoughts are about the short list of items you think pertinent to the discussion. They’re busy, so we can’t inundate them with too much info right away… and always, always be supportive of their service to our State and kind in word choices. Best not to be negative but instead, take the positive approach….what to do and not so much “don’t do”…. But be clear. 😊 Write like you were actually speaking to the person.
By using the JBS materials (great materials that are concise and accurate according to my own investigations), you can stay on task and keep away from conjecture (making up stuff). Let me know if you can’t find something you heard or want to know more about. Here’s a good place to start with putting together facts to send.https://jbs.org/concon/con-con-full-story/
Thanks to those of you who were able to join. We’re starting a wave! 😊 Our next Chapter meeting is 10 January, Lord willing, and we’ll start the Constitution is the Solution classes on Tuesday evenings ~ January 17th , 24th, and 31st. More to follow! Let me know if there’s anything you’ve been reading about in The New American or on the JBS website that we can expand upon at our 10 January meeting. Also, I’ll have materials available at the 10 January meeting for you take and give to folks to help them understand the ConCon as well…..
Together, we stand. Have a great evening!
